My predator tank has now been dubbed "Fire Magnet", since in every game it's in, it hasn't made it past the second turn and the opponent's shooting phase. As such, "Fire Magnet" has been daubed on it's hull in big, bold white letters.
Also, goddamnit, but this song is addictive.Current Mood: Why am I awake? Current Music: Freestylerz - What Would Brian Boitano Do (Original Mix)

Bit of a general update 'n all that rot, since it's been.... christ, nearly three months since I've posted anything 40k. I got the Black Reach starter set for christmas, along with a Rhino, a paint station and a bunch of paints. All of the aforementioned models have been put together, except for some Orks from the set.

( Gaming )
That was my gaming weekend, and I can't wait for Sunday, to get in a game or two before work. Hopefully I'll be able to get my assault marines partially painted by then, as well as my Rhino and Chaplain.Current Mood: Wheeeee Current Music: Toys - Frankie Goes to Hollywood - Welcome to the Pleasuredome (Into Battle Mix)

The JCC winter concert was.... well, yesterday, technically, but it still feels like today. It went quite well. For those who are interested or know what I'm talking about (looking at you here, Sav), the song list is as follows: Armida, On a Hymnsong of Philip Bliss, Fantasy on a 13th Century Carol (I might be wrong about the name), Imani, some variation on Carol of the Bells, Lux Arumque, and a march that was a pain in the ass.

No real purpose to this post. It's part shoutout and part note.
Go on newgrounds or Kongregate and play Incredibots. It's an awesome game in the same vein as Fantastic Contrapton.
Found this Bot, and it's awesome. http://incredibots.com/?robotID=74267 I didn't make it. Just posting it somewhere so I can find it again.

| » Warhammer 40k - Entry 1 |
Okay, so, I'm starting something new on this journal. I've started to get into Warhammer 40k, more than just the books and the video games. I've bought the rulebook, Codex: Space Marines, and I've started to paint up ten minis. Five of them are from the Assault on Black Reach paint set, and the other five are a combat squad (five standard Space Marines).
The paint set and the combat squad were the same price ($20). Now, you may be wondering why that is, especially when the paint set comes with six small pots of paint, a brush, a generic paint pallet, and the un-assembled marines. The reason is customization.
First off is the fact that unless you do what I did, the paint set marines are stuck as Ultramarines. The left shoulderpad has their chapter symbol molded into it. Easily removed with a bit of careful craft knife use, but still frustrating. Second is the fact that the paint set marines are assembled in four pieces (five if you include the base). This means they are stuck in one pose. The combat squad marines are made with... *counts* ...nine different pieces. You can have them look around, hold their weapon differently, lean forward, etc etc etc.
ANYWAY, enough of that. Anything marked 'Warhammer 40k' in my journal from now on will deal with me constructing, painting and playing the miniatures. My current project is purchasing, assembling and painting enough Marines to make a 500 point army of Soul Drinkers (see buddy icon for color scheme). The ten I have are my test-painting marines to get a hang of the techniques. I'll post a pic with explanations of each mini as soon as I get a chance.
Also, I can't wait for the paints and brush I ordered to get here. Once I get them, I can do a proper Soul Drinker color scheme.
EDIT: 2:14PM Holy crap. The paints and brush got here TODAY. They never even sent me an email that they shipped.

Holy shit, Blizzard. Is it seriously that hard to fix two little problems? Do you seriously have to have the WoW servers down for over 24 hours? For the mail system and people buying PVP items for too cheap?

So yeah, I got an appointment monday at the hellhole known as Watertown Eye Center. An O.D. took a look at my eye, and confirmed the abrasions. Apparently, there was a small piece of skin in one of them, keeping it from healing. JOY. Anyway, he got it out, gave me some better eye drops, then sent me on my way with an appointment for yesterday to take another look.
So yeah. As of yesterday, the abrasion was about seventy percent healed. Woot! He wants to see me again on saturday, but.... Yeah. I'm getting better and I'm happyyyyy~

Oog... it's been, what, four months since I last posted? Well, no worries, I'm still alive. I'm just really busy with work at Dano's and summer courses at JCC.
Not much more to this post... I don't have time to think up a complete update on my life since I last posted. Probably this afternoon, though.
